Alfama
Casa Azulejo
Alfama is the Lisbon of postcards — fado drifting from doorways, tiled façades, the No.28 tram rattling past. Santa Apolónia station is six minutes away. Expect hills, expect to get pleasantly lost.

Named for the original 19th-century tiles that survived everything — renovations, tenants, time. The terrace looks out over Alfama's rooftops toward the river, and in the evening the whole thing turns gold. This is the oldest part of Lisbon, all narrow lanes and laundry lines. The apartment is calm inside, loud with character outside.
